Ottawa police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in a theft from a vehicle earlier this fall, a case investigators say also involved the fraudulent use of stolen bank cards.

The theft took place on Oct. 4, the Ottawa Police Service said in a news release issued Tuesday morning. After the theft, the suspect allegedly used stolen bank cards to withdraw money and make several purchases.

Police released a description of the person they are trying to identify. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a black T-shirt, dark pants, white sneakers, sunglasses and a New York Yankees baseball cap. The suspect was also seen driving a newer black Ford F-150.
